The objective of this article is to discuss the challenges and identify viable paths for the brazilian public prosecutor’s office to act in the context of the environmental-climate crisis. Through a bibliographic review and documentary analysis, the study focuses on the emergence of climate litigation as a strategic instrument applicable to the public prosecutor’s office. It is concluded that the effectiveness of the ministerial action depends on overcoming obstacles, such as thematic distance and the mismatch in the actions of members with the same competence, with networking and the adoption of a resolution profile being promising paths to increase the effectiveness in the protection of climate rights.
